Quickstart
Before you begin
- A Jira Cloud account with permission to authorize third-party apps (OAuth 2.0).
- An Impulsum account (Google or email/password).
- A modern browser (latest Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox).
Security first: Impulsum requests read-only scopes to sync issues, projects, and users. Data is stored in Secure Database with encryption in transit and role-based access controls.
1) Create your Impulsum account
- Open the Impulsum app and click Continue with Google or Sign up with email.
- Provide basic details (name, company) to create your Workspace. You will be the Workspace Owner; invite teammates later as needed.
2) Connect Jira (OAuth 2.0)
- Go to Settings → Integrations and select Connect Jira.
- Choose your Atlassian site and Authorize access.
- Confirm the connection status shows Connected.
Scopes
Impulsum asks for minimal read-only scopes required to fetch projects, issues, sprints, and users. Exact scopes are listed on Integrations → Jira.
3) Run the initial sync
- After connecting, click Start initial sync.
- Keep the window open until you see Sync complete (large workspaces may take longer).
- From now on, your data stays incrementally up to date with background syncs.
What we import?
- Projects, boards, sprints
- Issues (status, assignee, priority, labels, story points, due dates, links, etc.)
- Basic user directory (for mentions/ownership)
We only store what’s needed to calculate KPIs, risks, and dashboards. See /security for details.
4) Ask your first question (AI chat)
Open AI Chat and try:
Which tasks are most delayed this week?
Show blocked issues by team and sprint.
Top 10 epics by impact and budget variance.
Where are the highest delivery risks in Q3?
What is the burn rate and forecasted overrun for Project Phoenix?
Summarize last sprint outcomes and risks for the executive weekly.
